Don’t be overwhelmed by its length—it’s meant to start the conversation between you and your integrative physician on natural alternatives for chronic pain. We encourage you to print it out, highlight a few appealing options, and discuss them with your healthcare provider:

Injection Therapies: Stimulating Your Body’s Natural Healing Mechanisms

  • Prolotherapy is the injection of natural substances into chronically injured areas of the body. The injected substances themselves don’t heal, but rather stimulate cell growth in the tissues that stabilize weakened joints, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons.
  • Ozone therapy—a type of oxidative medicine that can also be used to treat viral and fungal infections—is the injection of oxygen gas (ozone) into affected areas. Ozone is known to deactivate bacteria, simulate oxygen metabolism, and activate the immune system.
  • Oxygen therapy. Ozone molecules are composed of three oxygen atoms bound together. Oxygen molecules have two such atoms. Other forms of oxygen therapy such as hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or HBOT, (pressurized oxygen) may help as well by flooding wounded tissue with the oxygen it needs to repair itself.
  • Prolozone therapy utilizes injections that are a combination of collagen-producing substances and ozone. As a fusion of prolotherapy and ozone therapy, it is sometimes described as a major advance on both treatments.
Traditional Approaches to Pain Management

  • Acupuncture is an integrative treatment increasingly accepted by even conventional doctors. As detailed in a rigorous meta-analysis from 2012, it helps manage not only chronic pain (including fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and sports injuries), but provides relief from migraines and arthritis.
  • Homeopathy: The research “gold standard” used in the drug approval process, a double blind, random-controlled trial (RCT) published in Rheumatology International, reported that those suffering from osteoarthritis felt more relief from Arnica (an herb that grows in the US and Europe) gel than ibuprofen gel. In tablet form, Arnica tablets should be taken right after an injury or before an expected one (such as a medical or dental operation). Additionally, homeopathy offers many other customized approaches to the management or elimination of pain. For example, one of our staff member’s spouses instantly eliminated trigeminal neuralgia—one of the most severe and difficult to treat forms of pain—with a homeopathic preparation.
Non-Invasive Techniques Utilizing Electricity, Magnets, Lights, Lasers, and Vibration

Physical Manipulation

  • Individualized physical therapy not only manages pain, but can restore function and movement. One integrative variant of traditional physical therapy is the Bowenwork therapy, a non-chiropractic muscle manipulation that helps “reset” the nervous system.
  • PNT (the Kaufman pain neutralization technique) is a gentle form of chiropractic manipulation that “turns off” the nerve reflexes that perpetuate trigger points (small—yet painful—muscle knots) and muscle pain. PNT, a non-invasive technique that requires only very light pressure, is recommended by such natural health pioneers as Dr. Robert J. Rowen and Dr. Jonathan Wright.
  • Exercise. When you’re in pain, increased movement may seem counterintuitive, not to mention unappealing. But as some pain is caused by nerves not being adequately supported by muscle, specific strengthening exercises can provide relief. Another “real life” example from the ANH-USA office: a staff member suffering from sciatica practiced a simple exercise recommended by a top Japanese physical therapist—kneeling and sitting back on ones heels. This movement was repeated several hundred times a day until the pain completely disappeared; relief was then maintained by a hundred repetitions a day.
  • Moist heat treatments like the Thermophore. One ANH-USA staff member swears by this for relieving muscle spasm pain, especially in comparison with regular heat pads or those that require inserting a wet cloth. As the Thermophore draws moisture from the air instead of a wet cloth, it tends to be both reliable and effective.
Dietary Supplements

  • Sulfur-containing MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) not only provides pain and anti-inflammatory relief for osteoarthritis, but can also be effective for hay fever and other allergies. As many of us do not get enough usable sulfur in our diet, MSM is offered in powder as well as supplement form, which also facilitates the larger doses that may be necessary for pain and allergy relief.
  • Tumeric, ginger, boswellia, and bromelain exhibit remarkable anti-inflammatory properties (bromelain should be taken at high doses on an empty stomach as explained at LEF.org).
  • Cayenne cream reduces substance P, a chemical component of nerve cells that transmits pain signals to brain.
  • Cetyl myristoleate acts as a joint lubricant and an anti-inflammatory.
  • The GLA in evening primrose, black currant, and borage oils can help arthritic pain.
  • A member of our staff uses the Swiss Alpine herb butterbur for headaches and migraines (which can oftentimes be a side effect of prescription drugs). It also works well for hay fever. Because a toxic element must be removed from the plant, use a reliable preparation such as Petodolex.
  • Samento (a form of cat’s claw, an herb), green tea extract, and zeaxanthin (and other carotenoids) can help manage rheumatoid arthritis. Natural alternatives are particularly important, given the serious—and sometimes fatal—side effects of prescription RA treatments.
  • Even if you already take fish or krill oil, higher-than-normal dosages are anti-inflammatory and may help you manage pain.
Other potential supplements for pain management include:
  • niacinamide (osteoarthritis),
  • enhanced delivery forms of curcumin (such as Meriva),
  • green-lipped mussel,
  • pycnogenol,
  • proteolytic enzymes,
  • oligomeric proanthocyanidins,
  • hyaluronic acid,
  • 5-loxin,
  • Conolidine (derived from tree bark, it’s being studied as a potentially safe and powerful painkiller),
  • DMSO (dimethylsulfoxide),
  • B vitamins (particularly B6 and B12 for the management of tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, and bursitis),
  • black cumin seed oil,
  • pomegranate extract,
  • cherry juice or extract (especially for gout pain),
  • avocado unsaponifiables (for joints), and
  • SAM-e (recommended by Dr. Stephen Sinatra).
Prescription Treatments
  • Pentosan sulfatedescribed by Dr. Jonathan Wright—is a natural molecule derived from beech trees and an effective treatment for arthritis.
  • PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatment, described by Dr. Julian Whitaker in his July 2012 Health & Healing newsletter, delivers platelets—“nature’s reservoirs” of proteins, peptides, and other compounds that facilitate healing—taken from the patient’s own blood to the point of injury.

It's bad enough that Nestlé former CEO—now Chairman of the Board—Peter Brabeck-Letmathe supports GMO farming, saying that genetically modified (GM) foods are "perfectly safe" and don't cause any health problems, while also saying that organic farming is "not the best.

But now he's dipped his toes into the water supply, indicating that the world's water supply should—and will soon—come under the control of corporations such as Nestlé. He believes that water should be managed by businesses and governing personnel. In short, Brabeck-Letmathe wants water to be controlled, privatized and delegated, monitoring and controlling people's water use—including amounts and how and where it's used.  
And let's be honest . . . since Brabeck unwaveringly supports GM farming, you can bet that GM foods would have first priority of water rights, while organic farming would be forced out.

Underlying Brabeck-Letmathe's premise is his company being one of the largest foodstuff corporations on the planets—over $65 billion in profit each year. He's also quick to point out that millions of people are dependent on him and his company.


But that's not enough for him. He also wants to control the global water supply.  He understands that one-third of the population could face water shortages within the next 15 to 20 years, and he'd like to be a part of a "water dictatorship."

Unfortunately, we don't have to wait 15 to 20 years to see people who lack adequate water. Currently, there are nearly one-third of our world's population—approximately 900 million people—who don't have access to clean water. In fact, less than 1 percent of the water on our planet is drinkable untreated.

You may think the idea of water control is far removed, but some states in the West have had laws in place for some time that outlaw people from collecting rainwater on their own properties without a "valid water right." For example,

Colorado and Washington have rainwater and snowmelt collection restrictions limiting the free use of that water. In fact, Washington says that reclaiming rainwater is illegal because it's seen as a natural resource owned by the state and, therefore, falls under the jurisdiction of the State Department of Ecology.

You see, the water wars have been around for a while, but have gained even more attention in the past couple of decades, since water shortages and water waste have come to the fore.  It's truly something to contend with, too, and the United States is one of the greatest water users with each person, on average, using about 150 gallons of water daily. By contrast, Britain uses approximately 30 gallons per person daily, while people in countries such as Kenya subsist on less than 5 gallons per day.

It's no wonder there are water wars.

Perhaps Cheryl King Fisher, executive director of the Vermont-based New England Grassroots Environmental Fund, sums it up best:  "The tension between public ownership and privatization of our water resources is enormous. Water is the gold of the current century."

And it's "gold" that corporations such as Nestlé would like to take and keep, so beware.

Like human bodies, some trees have internal clocks that coordinate the activities of their cells with the cycles of day and night, a new study finds.

Scientists knew of these circadian rhythms in leaves, but the new study is the first to demonstrate them in whole trees. In the study, the researchers looked at the Tasmanian blue gum tree, and found it appears to use its internal clock to regulate its intake of water and carbon dioxide. These cycles could affect models of climate change, the scientists say.

"It had never been shown that the circadian rhythm of the leaf affected the whole tree," said study researcher Rubén Díaz Sierra, a physicist at the National University of Distance Education in Spain. "If it works for the tree, it works for the whole forest," he added.

Díaz Sierra's colleagues monitored trees in special "whole-tree chambers" as part of the Hawkesbury Forest Experiment near Sydney, Australia — a broader experiment to study how Australia's eucalypt forests will respond to changes in atmospheric carbon dioxide and climate. These chambers enable researchers to control the air temperature, humidity and amount of light the trees are exposed to, although these parameters were allowed to vary in this study. The researchers measured how much carbon dioxide the trees took in and how much water vapor they lost through small openings in the their leaves called stomata. The scientists then compared these values during overcast nights, when the environment stays mostly constant throughout the evening, with nights that saw dramatic changes in temperature and humidity.

Both carbon-dioxide intake and water loss declined in the six hours after dusk, but increased noticeably during the six hours before dawn, even on nights when temperature and humidity remained constant. Because the environment wasn't changing, the increase can only be explained by the biological clock, said study researcher Víctor Resco de Dios of the University of Western Sydney in Australia.

Artificial neural networks — machine-learning models inspired by the brain — were used to determine just how much the circadian rhythms affected the opening of stomata and the trees' water use.

The findings carry important implications for models of climate change. "Right now, the models don't take into account the time of the day," Díaz Sierra said, adding that if the time of day affects trees' carbon-dioxide consumption, it would alter models of how climate change will affect ecosystems.

Still, Díaz Sierra expects some resistance to the notion that whole trees display circadian rhythms. There's still a lot of work to do with other plants, he said. "But if it works on small plants on the leaves, why not the whole tree?" he said.

Smart doctors like Dr. Jerry Tennant say, “We do not treat cancer. We do support patients with cancer to help get their nutrition, minerals, acid-base balance, etc. in as good a condition as possible.” Oncologists certainly don’t cure cancer since it’s illegal to even speak about curing cancer and since most of their patients die no matter what the doctors say or do. What they are doing is using toxic substances and radiation for diagnosis and treatments, substances and procedures that cause cancer. Chemo and radiation kill both cancer and human cells and both increase instead of decreasing the chances of further reoccurrence of cancer.

A safer way to do the same is with light and heat via far infrared rays whose intense internally generated heat will kill cancer cells before too much heat kills the host. Human cells are much more resistant to heat extremes than cancer cells.

Misguided doctors on noting that a particular medication is killing a patient, combat the side effect by ordering increasing dosages of the same medicine. Sounds crazy but modern oncology dishes out more chemotherapy and radiation no matter how much more death-threatening cancer is caused from slash and burn therapies.

Fundamental Medicine

Some doctors like Dr. Tennant understand the principles of health and healing. He says, “The voltage in my thumb is -25 millivolts. Now I hit it with a hammer. The voltage immediately goes to -50 millivolts so it has enough power to replace the cells I damaged with the hammer. At -50 millivolts, we have the signs familiar as inflammation: throbbing pain, swelling, redness, and heat as well as decreased function. When tissue is at -50 millivolts and healing is occurring, two things are possible. It can have enough electrons to heal the damaged cells, and it returns to normal at -25 millivolts. The other possibility is that it runs out of voltage before the damaged cells are replaced. It then drops to a voltage lower than -25 millivolts. Now we have all the signs of degeneration. The pain changes from throbbing to a constant ache, the swelling may or may not be present, redness turns to paleness, and heat disappears as circulation diminishes.”

“Every cell in the body is designed to run at -20 to -25 millivolts. To heal, we must make new cells. To make a new cell requires -50 millivolts. Chronic disease occurs when voltage drops below -20 and/or you cannot achieve -50 millivolts to make new cells,” says Tennant. Thus chronic disease can almost always be defined by having low voltage, low body temperature, low pH occurring in conjunction with low CO2 and O2 levels. Tennant himself is a medical genius telling us that cell voltage and cell pH is running down the same railroad tracks together.

What do we do to maximize the healing process faced with this information? We raise CO2, O2, body temperature, cell voltage and increase tissue pH all at the same time. How? There are many ways how but the best way would be a combination of ways administered simultaneously. The most instant way is to administer sodium bicarbonate which instantly turns to CO2 in the stomach driving bicarbonates into the blood raising O2 levels.

Second way would be to slow the breathing down by using the Breathslim device[1]. This too would raise CO2 levels dragging O2 up with it. Next up would be to warm the body and provide negative ion flow and there is nothing like the BioMat to do that all night while you sleep.

Of course it would be ideal if we could provide some medicinal rocket fuel for the mitochondria and we find such in highly concentrated magnesium bicarbonate water. The magnesium will race through the calcium channel dragging inordinate amounts of bicarbonate in (again dragging up O2) and then the bicarbonate once inside the cell changes the cell pH toward a more favorable climate for mitochondrial activity. The bicarbonate will also ramrod the magnesium into the mitochondria.

It’s good to know and remember that the root of life is photosynthesis both in plants and in us. Mitochondrial experts are beginning to sense this since discovering that the mitochondria are light sensitive and since water experts like Dr. Pollack told the world that water is light sensitive and reorganizes itself in response to light. Whether that incoming light hits magnesium dependent chlorophyll in plants or whether it’s the light sensitive mitochondria making ATP CO2/bicarbonate is there as a food making the process possible.

Water and carbon dioxide combined with light energy and chlorophyll to form what? Sugar and oxygen! The process is known as photosynthesis. The chemical reaction looks like this: 6H2O + 6CO2 + light → C6H12O6 + 6O2

Bicarbonate ions are the food of life combining with light, heat and magnesium to provide raw healing horsepower. Taking magnesium bicarbonate will light a match in the interior of the cells that will ignite the mitochondria for optimal performance. Add light and heat with a BioMat and one can expect to go to cellular heaven!

Are microwaves a benign bastion of convenience or a sinister contributor to biological and nutritional damage? That depends where you attain your health information from. Many believe microwaves are an ingenious time-saving device and wonder how anyone ever lived without them. Others are aware their food doesn't quite taste the same after microwave use, but unapologetically swear by them just to help them get through the day a little bit faster. However, a growing percentage are now heeding the advice of holistic health experts advising them of the dangers. Regardless of where you stand, humans are the only animals on the planet who destroy the nutritional value of their food before eating it, and the use of microwaves is no exception.

 If you're a regular reader of any type of website that thrives to educate on natural and toxic-free living, then you probably disposed of your microwave long ago. If you still use a microwave and just stumbled on this information, pay close attention as all the information on this page will eventually lead you to throw out your nuker and get back to old fashioned heating methods which are far more effective for your long-term health.

Microwaves use super-fast particles to literally radiate the contents of water inside food and bring it to boil. Not only has microwave use been linked to causing infertility in men, but it also denatures many of the essential proteins in the food making them virtually indigestible.

Most animals will only consume food in its natural, unprocessed state, but humans actually go out of their way to render food nutritionally worthless before eating it. Think about all the prepackaged and processed foods we purchase and consume annually. It's no wonder the state of our health is in dire straits.

Microwaves are a source of electromagnetic energy (a form of nonionizing form of radiation) electronically generated. When penetrating the aliments, they trigger an inner rotation of the water molecules inside the food. This rotation triggers a friction between the molecules and the result is a rapid growth in temperature.

Microwave ovens work physically, biochemically and physiologically, producing ions and various free radicals, which destroy viruses and bacteria, but not toxins and microtoxins. The experts have concluded that food cooked in microwaves loses between 60% and 90% of its vital energy and, at the same time, the structural disintegration processes accelerates. Also, the nutrient substances are altered, leading to digestive diseases. These microwaves can increase both the number of cancerous cells in blood and the number of stomach and intestinal cancerous cells.

Microwaves leaking radiation is a serious issue. Serious enough for the FDA to set legal limits on the leakage permitted by every microwave manufacturer. However, the only way to completely eliminate the radiation dangers associated with microwaves is not to use one. Microwave radiation has been known to cause cataracts, birth defects, cancer and other serious illnesses.

Because of these causes  the microwave ovens were banned in the Soviet Union in 1976. Soviet scientists found that  the microwave exposure decreases the ability of some vitamins to by absorbed by the human body, dramatically accelerates the structural disintegration of all foods and reduces the metabolic stress of the alkaloids, glycosides and galactoses.

In 1991, the Swiss Doctor Hans Ulrich Hertel made a study that demonstrated that cooking or heating food  presents much greater risks for health than the traditionally cooked food. He found that people who ate microwave prepared food recorded losses in the hemoglobines and lymphoites.

In 2003, a Spanish governmental study elaborated in Murcia demonstrated that the vegetables and fruits cooked in a microwave lost a percentage of 97% of the substances that contribute to reducing the incidence of coronary heart diseases.

In Dr. Lita Lee's book, Health Effects of Microwave Radiation -- Microwave Ovens, and in the March and September 1991 issues of Earthletter, she stated that every microwave oven leaks electro-magnetic radiation, harms food, and converts substances cooked in it to dangerous organ-toxic and carcinogenic products.

In Comparative Study of Food Prepared Conventionally and in the Microwave Oven, published by Raum & Zelt in 1992, at 3(2): 43, it states:

"Artificially produced microwaves, including those in ovens, are produced from alternating current and force a billion or more polarity reversals per second in every food molecule they hit. Production of unnatural molecules is inevitable. Naturally occurring amino acids have been observed to undergo isomeric changes (changes in shape morphing) as well as transformation into toxic forms, under the impact of microwaves produced in ovens."

There are no atoms, molecules or cells of any organic system able to withstand such a violent, destructive power for any extended period of time, not even in the low energy range of milliwatts. Microwaves quickly destroy the delicate molecules of vitamins and phytonutrients (plant medicines) naturally found in foods. One study showed that microwaving vegetables destroys up to 97% of the nutritional content (vitamins and other plant-based nutrients that prevent disease, boost immune function and enhance health).

Dr. Hertel was the first scientist to conceive and carry out a quality clinical study on the effects microwaved nutrients have on the blood and physiology of the human body. His small but well controlled study showed the degenerative force produced in microwave ovens and the food processed in them. The scientific conclusion showed that microwave cooking changed the nutrients in the food; and, changes took place in the participants' blood that could cause deterioration in the human system. Hertel's scientific study was done along with Dr. Bernard H. Blanc of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and the University Institute for Biochemistry.

Of all the natural substances -- which are polar -- the oxygen of water molecules reacts most sensitively. This is how microwave cooking heat is generated -- friction from this violence in water molecules. Structures of molecules are torn apart, molecules are forcefully deformed, called structural isomerism, and thus become impaired in quality. This is contrary to conventional heating of food where heat transfers convectionally from without to within. Cooking by microwaves begins within the cells and molecules where water is present and where the energy is transformed into frictional heat.

The following is a summary of the Russian investigations published by the Atlantis Raising Educational Center in Portland, Oregon:

- Microwaving prepared meats sufficiently to insure sanitary ingestion caused formation of d-Nitrosodienthanolamines, a well-known carcinogen.

- Microwaving milk and cereal grains converted some of their amino acids into carcinogens.

- Thawing frozen fruits converted their glucoside and galactoside containing fractions into carcinogenic substances.

- Extremely short exposure of raw, cooked or frozen vegetables converted their plant alkaloids into carcinogens.

- Carcinogenic free radicals were formed in microwaved plants, especially root vegetables.

Russian researchers also reported a marked acceleration of structural degradation leading to a decreased food value of 60 to 90% in all foods tested. Among the changes observed were:

- Deceased bio-availability of vitamin B complex, vitamin C, vitamin E, essential minerals and lipotropics factors in all food tested.

- Various kinds of damaged to many plant substances, such as alkaloids, glucosides, galactosides and nitrilosides.

According to Dr. Lee, changes are observed in the blood chemistries and the rates of certain diseases among consumers of microwaved foods. The symptoms above can easily be caused by the observations shown below. The following is a sample of these changes:

a.. Lymphatic disorders were observed, leading to decreased ability to prevent certain types of cancers.

b.. An increased rate of cancer cell formation was observed in the blood.

c.. Increased rates of stomach and intestinal cancers were observed.

d.. Higher rates of digestive disorders and a gradual breakdown of the systems of elimination were observed.

Decrease in Food Value

Microwave exposure caused significant decreases in the nutritive value of all foods researched. The following are the most important findings:

1. A decrease in the bioavailability [capability of the body to utilize the nutriment] of B-complex vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, essential minerals and lipotropics in all foods;

2. A loss of 60-90% of the vital energy field content of all tested foods;

3. A reduction in the metabolic behavior and integration process capability of alkaloids [organic nitrogen based elements], glucosides and galactosides, and nitrilosides;

4. A destruction of the nutritive value of nucleoproteins in meats;

5. A marked acceleration of structural disintegration in all foods.

Biological Effects of Exposure

Exposure to microwave emissions also had an unpredictably negative effect upon the general bio-logical welfare of humans. This was not discovered until the Russians experimented with highly sophisticated equipment and discovered that a human did not even need to ingest the material substance of the microwaved food substances: that even exposure to the energy-field itself was sufficient to cause such adverse side effects that the use of any such microwave apparatus was forbidden in 1976 by Soviet state law.

The following are the enumerated effects:

1. A breakdown of the human “life-energy field” in those who were exposed to microwave ovens while in operation, with side-effects to the human energy field of increasingly longer duration;

2. A degeneration of the cellular voltage parallels during the process of using the apparatus, especially in the blood and lymphatic areas;

3. A degeneration and destabilization of the external energy activated potentials of food utilization within the processes of human metabolism;

4. A degeneration and destabilization of internal cellular membrane potentials while transferring catabolic [metabolic breakdown] processes into the blood serum from the digestive process;

5. Degeneration and circuit breakdowns of electrical nerve impulses within the junction potentials of the cerebrum [the front portion of the brain where thought and higher functions reside];

6. A degeneration and breakdown of nerve electrical circuits and loss of energy field symmetry in the neuroplexuses [nerve centers] both in the front and the rear of the central and autonomic nervous systems;
7. Loss of balance and circuiting of the bioelectric strengths within the ascending reticular activating system [the system which controls the function of consciousness];

8. A long term cumulative loss of vital energies within humans, animals and plants that were located within a 500-meter radius of the operational equipment;

9. Long lasting residual effects of magnetic “deposits” were located throughout the nervous system and lymphatic system;

10. A destabilization and interruption in the production of hormones and maintenance of hormonal balance in males and females;

11. Markedly higher levels of brainwave disturbance in the alpha, theta, and delta wave signal patterns of persons exposed to microwave emission fields, and;

12. Because of this brainwave disturbance, negative psychological effects were noted, including loss of memory, loss of ability to concentrate, suppressed emotional threshold, deceleration of intellective processes, and interruptive sleep episodes in a statistically higher percentage of individuals subjected to continual range emissive field effects of microwave apparatus, either in cooking apparatus or in transmission stations.

Take a look around you at every person that still uses a microwave. The largest majority are unhealthy and overweight. The more you use the microwave, the worse your nutritional state gets, and the more likely you are to be diagnosed with various diseases and put on pharmaceuticals which, of course, will create other health problems that lead to a grand spiraling nosedive of health.


How Do You Heat Your Food The Healthy Way

This is kind of a misnomer because there is truthfully, with perhaps the exception of dehydration, no way to heat food and maintain its structural and nutritional value. However, gently heating food in a cast iron pan over the stove may be the healthiest alternative to nuking it. This is the old fashioned way and it never failed our ancestors.

Toss that microwave and strive to consume at least half of your diet from raw foods, that is a huge step in the right direction to maintain their nutritional value. My mother always used to tell me that if food comes from a package, or has to be heated to be eaten, there's a good a chance it's low in nutrition. She was right for the most part, so keep that in mind when venturing the aisles at the grocery.

New research finds leading cause of death in US impacted by the "motor vehicles and power plants" around us

Air pollution suffocates. Its effect on breathing is clear. But the impact of fumes, car exhaust and other particulates on other organs is less established.

A new study which appears in the April issue of PLoS Medicine found that long-term exposure to air pollution similarly suffocates our primary arteries, a condition linked to increased instances of both heart disease and stroke.

The leading cause of death among adults in the US is coronary artery disease—a cardiovascular disease in which the buildup of fatty deposits ("atherosclerosis plaques") within the heart's arteries slows blood supply, potentially causing a heart attack. Similarly, stroke—the fourth leading cause of death in the US—occurs when these fatty deposits block blood supply to the brain.

Researchers for the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA) took regular measurements of the thickness of the arterial wall, or the build up of these plaques, in 5,362 individuals while monitoring the concentration of fine particulate matter—such as produced by "motor vehicles, power plants, and other combustion sources"—at the patients' homes.

Their conclusion: That long-term exposure to fine particulate matter, or pollution, is associated with the progression of atherosclerosis and consequently with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
They write:
[W]e found evidence that individuals with higher long-term residential concentrations of [fine particulate matter] experience a faster rate of [thickening of the arterial wall] progression as compared to other people within the same metropolitan area. Improvements in air quality over the duration of the study were similarly associated with changes in [arterial wall] progression, with greater reductions in [particulate matter] showing slower [thickening] progression. These findings suggest that higher long-term [pollution] exposures may be associated with an acceleration of vascular pathologies over time.
“I think this provides us with even more evidence that air pollution is a cause of heart disease,” said lead author, Sara D. Adar, an assistant professor of epidemiology at the University of Michigan. “And it puts us one step closer to understanding how that happens.”

Unification Theory of Medicine

A grand unification theory of medicine would describe this area of physiology where certain things are happening simultaneously with others. For instance, inflammation is inseparable from lower pH, oxygen, CO2 and cell energy levels, which of course would track with cell temperature, respiration and elimination. There is a point where one cannot separate out oxygen from CO2 levels because they are locked into a tight mathematical relationship with each other. The same is true about pH and cell voltage. As CO2 levels go south with O2 levels, pH dives as does cell voltage.

With inflammation we have viral, bacterial and fungi sharks ready to start biting on tissues until the entire process leads to degenerative diseases and cancer. Most infections do not take hold on strong healthy tissues.

The concept of a unified medicine originates as far back as to the time of Aristotle in 500 B.C. and Hippocrates in 340 B.C. In the 21st century we have a pool of brilliant physicians and researchers who together give us enough brainpower to launch another attempt at creating a whole new outlook on how to view and practice medicine. Dr. Chaim Tejman wrote:

According to wave theory, living, mercurial energetic matter configured as a wave formation creates everything, including DNA—which is itself a sophisticated, living highly energetic wave. There are many types of cancer: from benign tumors that engage in symbiotic relations with their hosts to extremely malignant, high-energy forms that exterminate their host and themselves. Cancer is dependent on its specific location in the body, which dictates the virulence of the particular cancer. Different organelles in the cell are capable of producing cancerous growths, all of which adhere to the same basic principles of nature (behavior of energetic matter). Although it appears to be a rather simple and natural wave formation, DNA is quite sophisticated, and we currently lack an understanding of its exact behavior or characteristics. Nevertheless, we do know that DNA is responsible for the creation of perhaps the most sophisticated of creatures: the human being.

All creations, both organic and inorganic, go through phase transitions that are powered by the loss of energy. Observations have shown that matter enters a Kerr swirl where it is processed in singularity. It is subsequently expelled in the form of an energetic path that reaches the next Schwarzchild swirl. There it is processed yet again and moves along an energetic path back to the main swirl, which is the heart of the formationAll creations are thus predicated on their ability to preserve and use energy to proceed along the various stations of the life cycle. Every energetic formation is thus dependent on the amount energy at its disposal: the more energy at its disposal the more vibrant the entity.

Energy can only move in a formation with specified step-ups-and-downs in energy. Dr. Tejman, refers to this as the wave formation and this of course points us right to the phenomenon of electricity. The heart of every creation is an energetic swirl to Tejman. Meaning each cell has a vibration, a frequency having wave-form.

Medical Singularity

Singularity was originally a mathematical term for a point at which an equation has no solution. In physics, it was proven that a large enough collapsing star would eventually become a black hole so dense that its own gravity would cause a singularity in the fabric of space time, a point where many standard physics equations suddenly have no solution.

Beyond the "event horizon" of the black hole we have the known universe, but inside of it one cannot discern the difference between one thing and another. There is that point where everything does come together and of course that point where everything breaks apart into the normal separation between things in the created universe.

What is that level of life where we cannot break things apart without betraying their true nature? Is it that level where CO2 levels bind tightly with O2 levels? Is it the same place where pH and cell voltage track each other? Is there a singularity horizon where the hordes of infectious agents like to go?

Do you see how we have five parameters in the basement of cell physiology? Few if any people have gotten to the level of understanding that inflammation is inseparable from lower pH, oxygen, CO2 and cell energy levels. With inflammation we also have viral, bacterial and fungal sharks ready to start biting on tissues until the entire process leads to degenerative diseases and cancer.

Most infections do not take hold on strong healthy tissues. The missing factors from this picture are toxicity and steep nutritional deficiencies, which gets the whole wrecking ball rolling in the first place. It is also crucial to mention emotions and sexual stress/dissatisfaction that brings our personal lives into the cancer condition. From the soul downward into the dense matter of our bodies we descend quite easily into the hellish condition we call cancer, that does have its aberrations inside the imaginative level and how we decide to live our lives.

An Imaginative Medical Journey

Imagine looking inside the body at a healthy cell and its surrounding healthy tissues and listening to the beautiful singing of these happy cells, all singing in healthy resonating frequencies and amplitudes of energy. But move to an area of inflammation and the sights and the sounds change.

Upon imagining an area of sick cells, we conjure up an image that will capture everything I just said in a snapshot. We can see the low oxygen and the low CO2 and we can smell the toxic wastes and acids building up and see it all coming up ugly in our view screens. Don't forget to look at the holes in the cell walls and the damaged receptor sites hurt by the minerals that are missing and doubly hurt by the heavy metals and other chemical poisons that take up the places where the minerals belong.

Earthquakes have the Midas touch, a new study claims.

Water in faults vaporizes during an earthquake, depositing gold, according to a model published in the March 17 issue of the journal Nature Geoscience. The model provides a quantitative mechanism for the link between gold and quartz seen in many of the world's gold deposits, said Dion Weatherley, a geophysicist at the University of Queensland in Australia and lead author of the study.

When an earthquake strikes, it moves along a rupture in the ground — a fracture called a fault. Big faults can have many small fractures along their length, connected by jogs that appear as rectangular voids. Water often lubricates faults, filling in fractures and jogs.

About 6 miles (10 kilometers) below the surface, under incredible temperatures and pressures, the water carries high concentrations of carbon dioxide, silica and economically attractive elements like gold.

Shake, rattle and gold

During an earthquake, the fault jog suddenly opens wider. It's like pulling the lid off a pressure cooker: The water inside the void instantly vaporizes, flashing to steam and forcing silica, which forms the mineral quartz, and gold out of the fluids and onto nearby surfaces, suggest Weatherley and co-author Richard Henley, of the Australian National University in Canberra.

While scientists have long suspected that sudden pressure drops could account for the link between giant gold deposits and ancient faults, the study takes this idea to the extreme, said Jamie Wilkinson, a geochemist at Imperial College London in the United Kingdom, who was not involved in the study.

"To me, it seems pretty plausible. It's something that people would probably want to model either experimentally or numerically in a bit more detail to see if it would actually work," Wilkinson told OurAmazingPlanet.

Previously, scientists suspected fluids would effervesce, bubbling like an opened soda bottle, during earthquakes or other pressure changes. This would line underground pockets with gold. Others suggested minerals would simply accumulate slowly over time.

Weatherley said the amount of gold left behind after an earthquake is tiny, because underground fluids carry at most only one part per million of the precious element. But an earthquake zone like New Zealand's Alpine Fault, one of the world's fastest, could build a mineable deposit in 100,000 years, he said.

Surprisingly, the quartz doesn't even have time to crystallize, the study indicates. Instead, the mineral comes out of the fluid in the form of nanoparticles, perhaps even making a gel-like substance on the fracture walls. The quartz nanoparticles then crystallize over time. Even earthquakes smaller than magnitude 4.0, which may rattle nerves but rarely cause damage, can trigger flash vaporization, the study finds.

"Given that small-magnitude earthquakes are exceptionally frequent in fault systems, this process may be the primary driver for the formation of economic gold deposits," Weatherley told OurAmazingPlanet.

The hills have gold

Quartz-linked gold has sourced some famous deposits, such as the placer gold that sparked the 19th-century California and Klondike gold rushes. Both deposits had eroded from quartz veins upstream. Placer gold consists of particles, flakes and nuggets mixed in with sand and gravel in stream and river beds. Prospectors traced the gravels back to their sources, where hard-rock mining continues today.

But earthquakes aren't the only cataclysmic source of gold. Volcanoes and their underground plumbing are just as prolific, if not more so, at producing the precious metal. While Weatherley and Henley suggest that a similar process could take place under volcanoes, Wilkinson, who studies volcano-linked gold, said that's not the case.

"Beneath volcanoes, most of the gold is not precipitated in faults that are active during earthquakes," Wilkinson said. "It's a very different mechanism."

Understanding how gold forms helps companies prospect for new mines. "This new knowledge on gold-deposit formation mechanisms may assist future gold exploration efforts," Weatherley said.
In their quest for gold, humans have pulled more than 188,000 tons (171,000 metric tons) of the metal from the ground, exhausting easily accessed sources, according to the World Gold Council, an industry group.
